School groups, clubs, businesses and community organizations are encouraged to sign up for the 2014 Arts in the Alley Community Parade presented by the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Grove City Girls’ Club. The parade will kick off the 35th Annual Arts in the Alley Music and Arts Festival at 9:30 a.m. on September 20, 2014 with the theme “Music in the Air.” The deadline to register for the parade is September 5.
This year, retiring Grove City Marching Band Director George Edge will be leading the parade as the Grand Marshal. The Band, while under his direction, has made great strides and has made the Grove City High School Marching Band a national contender in competitions.
Anyone who would like to participate in the parade should complete the registration form. Details about entry fees, required for some categories of entries, are included on the registration form. If you have questions, please call (614) 875-9762.
The Parade will take place rain or shine and will travel through Grove City’s historic Town Center. The event will start in the Southwest Blvd parking lot, go south on Broadway, east on Columbus St, and will then disperse at Park Street Intermediate School.
The Arts in the Alley Music and Arts Festival includes more than 100 juried artists and crafters, a Kids Fun Street, specialty shows, food and live entertainment. The festival will be open Saturday, September 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, September 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Parking and admission are free.
